WASHINGTON, D.C. – Earlier today, Congressman Bobby Scott (VA-03), the Ranking Member of the Committee on Education and the Workforce, voted for H.Res. 1061 the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024, a legislative package that includes six of the twelve fiscal year 2024 appropriations bills. This package includes the following funding bills: Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies; Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies; Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies; Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies; Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies; and Transportation, and Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies.

WASHINGTON – Ranking Member Robert C. “Bobby” Scott (VA-03) released the following statement after the Biden administration released final rules for nine federal agencies—including the Departments of Health and Human Services (HHS), Education (ED), Labor (DOL), and Agriculture (USDA)—that would restore and strengthen key civil rights protections for beneficiaries of federally funded social service programs.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Bobby Scott (VA-03), a member of the Pro-Choice Caucus, co-sponsored H.R. 7056, the Access to Family Building Act, which establishes a federal right to access in-vitro fertilization (IVF) and other assisted reproductive technologies. “Since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. WASHINGTON, DC – Ranking Member Robert C. “Bobby” Scott (VA-03) released the following statement after Congress passed the Extension of Continuing Appropriations and Other Matters Act, 2024 (H.R. 7463).  “In 2020, I agreed to negotiate with former HELP Chairman Lamar Alexander on the FAFSA Simplification Act with the agreement that we would simplify the application process if it also meant that Congress would expand students’ access to the Pell Grant program. Our goal has always been to expand access to the Pell Grant program.
