WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Bobby Scott (VA-03), the Ranking Member of the House Committee on Education and Workforce, delivered the following statement accepting the 2025 Best of Green Schools Policy Maker Award from the U.S. Green Building Council.
“I’m honored to be recognized alongside Senator Reed with the ‘Best of Green Schools Policy Maker Award’ for our work to advance green school buildings through the Rebuild America’s Schools Act.
“Our bill invests over $130 billion to rebuild our nation’s physical and digital infrastructure, improve students’ academic recovery efforts, and create more than 2 million jobs over the next five years.
“We want to ensure that our schools are safe, sustainable, and conducive to learning. I want to thank the U.S. Green Building Council for being a great partner in helping us achieve this goal.
“Thank you to everyone at the Green Schools Conference for their dedication to creating healthier, more sustainable schools for students and communities worldwide.
“As we move forward, I remain committed to advocating for equitable education by ensuring our schools are green and investing in our teachers and students. We must prioritize accessibility, affordability, and opportunity for all.
“Thank you for your continued work and commitment to a brighter, greener future.”
