WASHINGTON, D.C. – Yesterday, Congressman Bobby Scott (VA-03) introduced the American Offshore Wind Opportunity Act to develop America’s maritime and shipbuilding workforce to meet the growing demand of the offshore wind industry. The legislation requires the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) to conduct a study to inform public and private investment in shipbuilding and workforce training to support the Biden Administration’s goal of deploying 30 gigawatts of offshore wind energy by 2030. The study would also identify ways that current policies could be strengthened to support American workers.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, House Republicans advanced H.J. Res. 45, which would deny student debt relief for43 million student loan borrowers debt relief, including more than 20.6 million of their own constituents. The resolution could also create chaos for student loan borrowers by potentially forcing them to repay the last four months’ worth of student loan payments. This would trigger a wave of delinquencies and defaults for our most vulnerable borrowers.
