There is a growing awareness surrounding the over-incarceration problem and the need for investments in re-entry programs. In June, Rep. Bobby Scott and Rep. James Sensenbrenner (R-WI) introduced the bipartisan SAFE Justice Act. If passed, the SAFE Justice Act would provide funding for programs like re-entry initiatives that build partnerships with local agencies to find housing and employment opportunities for recently released offenders. This bill would lower the risk for recidivism while improving public safety and saving money.

This tour is open to the media. Any media interested in attending should contact Congressman Scott's Newport News District Office at (757) 380-1000 for additional information.
