Scott Statement on Passing of Former Delegate Lacey Putney

NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Congressman Bobby Scott (VA-03) issued the following statement on the passing of former Delegate Lacey Putney (I-Bedford County):

"Lacey Putney gave more than five decades of selfless service to the citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia. He was an icon in the General Assembly and in Virginia politics. I had the honor of serving with Delegate Putney during my service in the General Assembly. Lacey was a masterful legislator and his legislative accomplishments are many. However, his impact on Virginia's colleges and universities and driving economic development in Bedford County will continue to improve the lives of Virginians for many years to come. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and countless friends and supporters."
