Scott Statement on the Passing of Former Congressman Louis Stokes

RICHMOND, VA – Congressman Robert C. "Bobby" Scott (VA-03) issued the following statement on the passing of former Congressman Louis Stokes of Ohio:

"I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Louis Stokes. As the first African-American member of Congress from the state of Ohio and as a founding member of the Congressional Black Caucus, Lou Stokes was a trailblazer in public service. He was well respected for his three decades of service in Congress, especially for his work towards quality health care for all. My thoughts and prayers are with the Stokes family and the many people positively impacted by Congressman Stokes' work."
