Scott Statement on House GOP’s Failed Continuing Resolution

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Bobby Scott (VA-03) issued the following statement:

“The continuing resolution that House Republicans failed to pass today was not a serious attempt to avert a shutdown tomorrow night. The bill included extreme cuts to Head Start, food assistance, education, law enforcement and other critical programs for working families. House Republicans are wasting time trying to impeach the president instead of working with the rest of Congress to honor the funding agreement that Speaker McCarthy made with President Biden earlier this summer.”
