Scott Receives Congressional Champion Award from the National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education
WASHINGTON, DC – On Wednesday, March 27th, 2012, Congressman Robert C. "Bobby" Scott (VA-03) received the National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education's (NAFEO) Congressional Champion Award. This award was given to honor Scott's commitment to and support for our nation's Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs).
"Since its founding in 1969, the National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education and its member colleges and universities have been committed to advocating on behalf of our Nation's Historically Black Colleges and Universities and, more recently, Predominantly Black Institutions," said Rep. Scott. "I am honored to receive the Congressional Champion Award from a group of educators who share my commitment to strengthening our nation's HBCUs and PBIs. Together, we will continue to work to improve these institutions so they may continue to educate our future generations."
