Scott Named a Champion for Children by First Focus Campaign for Children
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Robert C. "Bobby" Scott was named a 2012 Champion for Children for his work in the second session of the 112th Congress by the First Focus Campaign for Children (FFCC). FFCC considered Members of Congress who demonstrated extraordinary initiative by sponsoring hearings or garnering the support of their colleagues to improve the health, educational outcomes, and well-being of children.
"I am honored to be recognized by the First Focus Campaign for Children as one of their 2012 Champions for Children," said Rep. Scott. "Children are our nation's greatest resource, and investing in America's next generation has always been my number one priority in Congress. Congress must work to improve opportunities for all children, beginning with access to quality healthcare and early education, and continuing on through college access and graduation. We must also work proactively to protect at-risk youth from going down the wrong path. I remain committed to these goals."
