WASHINGTON, DC – On March 10, 2012, Congressman Robert C. "Bobby" Scott was inducted into the National Black Law Students Association's Hall of Fame at their 44th annual National Convention and Awards Gala. Other inductees included Judge Robert Bell, Chief Judge, Maryland Court of Appeals, and Elaine R. Jones, former president and director-counsel of the NAACP's Legal Defense Fund. Past inductees include Harvard Law Professor Charles Ogletree and Theresa Cooper, the first woman national chair of the National Black Law Students Association.

"I am honored to be inducted alongside Chief Judge Bell and Elaine Jones, and to follow in the footsteps of Professor Charles Ogletree and Theresa Cooper," said Rep. Scott. "The National Black Law Students Association is an important student organization advocating for and promoting the needs and goals of young African Americans pursuing a legal education in order to effectuate change in their communities. These young men and women give me great pride and hope for the future of our nation's legal profession."
