Rep. Scott Receives the Good Scouter Award
The Good Scouter Award is a tribute to individual citizens who have dedicated their lives to the betterment of the community. Some of the past recipients have been: Charles Banks III, Dois Rosser Jr., Senator Thomas K. Norment Jr., Gordon Gentry, James L. Eason, Joe W. Frank, James Chevious, Senator George Allen, Hunter Andrews, Senator John Warner and Congressman Herbert Bateman. The award was first presented in 1984 to Henry V. "Bird" Hooper and the Colonial Virginia Council has presented the award each year since.
"I am honored to be one of this year's Good Scouter Award recipients," said Rep. Scott. "As a former scout, I understand how important scouting is in teaching young people how to become contributing citizens of our society. The Boy Scouts have a long history of developing young boys into responsible, contributing men."
