Rep. Scott Receives the 2007 Distinguished Citizen Award from the Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce
The Distinguished Citizen of the Year Award has been awarded annually by the Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce since 1981. According to the Chamber, nominees should exemplify substantial and enduring contributions to the community through actions in human services, education, or business and industry. Previous recipients of the award include Newport News Shipbuilding, former Congressman Thomas N. Downing, former Congressman Herb Bateman, former Delegate Alan Diamonstein, Dr. McKinley L. Price, DDS, and former State Senator Hunter Andrews.
"I am honored to be recognized as one of this year's Distinguished Citizens with my late colleague Congresswoman Jo Ann Davis," said Rep. Scott. "The Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce is an important advocate for the economic and business interests of the Virginia Peninsula. I look forward to working with the Chamber in the years ahead to ensure that the Virginia Peninsula remains one of the most competitive economic regions in the nation."
