October 26, 2010

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Robert C. "Bobby" Scott (D-VA-03) once again received a perfect score of 100 percent on the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights' Voting Record that was recently released. The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights is a coalition of more than 200 national organizations charged by its diverse membership to promote and protect the rights of all persons in the United States. Its Voting Record monitors Members of Congress' votes on civil rights and human rights issues.

For the 111th Congress, the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights documented Congressional support for, or opposition to, bills containing important civil rights protections, hate crimes legislation, immigration legislation, economic recovery assistance, support for education, pay discrimination protection, health care reform, housing assistance and predatory lending protection, and other issues. Out of 435 members of the House of Representatives, 182 members received a perfect score of 100 percent. Rep. Scott also received a 100 percent during the 110th Congress.

"Our civil rights are a fundamental principle to the American way of life," said Rep. Scott. "I am committed to protecting and defending these rights for all people. I am proud that the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights' Voting Record reflects this commitment."
