WASHINGTON, DC – Representative Robert C. "Bobby" Scott (VA-03) will announce the winners of the Sixteenth Annual Third Congressional District Art Competition at upcoming receptions in Newport News and Richmond.  The Third Congressional District Art Competition was open to all High School students in the Third Congressional District of Virginia.

Representative Scott has participated every year he has served in Congress.

This year's first place winner will receive the Artistic Honors Scholarship of $1,500 from the Savannah College of Art and Design and will attend a reception in honor of all the winners nationwide in Washington, DC.  The first place winning entry for each congressional district will also be displayed in the primary tunnel connecting the United States Capitol Building to the Cannon House Office Building for one year, where it will be seen by thousands of people who visit the U.S. Capitol.

Representative Scott will present the first place winner and other finalists with a certificate, a t-shirt and various other prizes at two upcoming receptions in the Third Congressional District.
