04.09.09 | Rep. Scott to Hold Town Halls in Henrico and Norfolk on the Fiscal Year 2010 Federal Budget

WASHINGTON, DC – Representative Robert C. "Bobby" Scott (D-VA-03) will host two Town Halls in Henrico and Norfolk on the Fiscal Year 2010 Federal Budget next week.

Last week, the House of Representatives and Senate passed Congressional Budget Resolutions, which allocate budget authority to the Congressional authorizing and appropriations Committees for the upcoming fiscal year that begins on October 1, 2009.  The Town Hall will be an opportunity for Rep. Scott to brief constituents on the budget and answer their questions and concerns.

"The budget directly impacts the lives of every American citizen," said Rep. Scott.  "We began the year with record budget deficits, record job losses and the economy in distress.  President Obama and Congress are working to put our economy back on track and to return to fiscal responsibility.  The budget passed by the House last week does just that."

The Henrico Town Hall will be held on Monday, April 13, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. at the Henrico Theatre.  The Henrico Theatre is located at 305 East Nine Mile Road, Highland Springs, Virginia 23075.

The Norfolk Town Hall will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. at Norfolk's City Council Chamber.  The City Council Chamber is located at Norfolk City Hall, 810 Union Street, 10th Floor, Norfolk, Virginia 23510.
