HAMPTON, Va. — Depending on where you live in Hampton Roads, we know flooding can be an issue for families. Wednesday Congressman Bobby Scott presented over $1.3 million in funding to reduce flood risk. Our News 3 reporter Kelsey Jones went to Buxton Avenue. This is one of many neighborhoods in Hampton that easily floods. Families who live in Buxton say they hope the money will fix this harsh reality.

WASHINGTON – Ranking Member Robert C. “Bobby” Scott (VA-03) released the following statement after the Biden-Harris Administration issued a final rule that would raise the salary threshold for salaried workers to automatically qualify for overtime compensation.  According to the Department of Labor, the rule would guarantee overtime pay for most salaried workers earning less than $58,656 per year, extending overtime protections for roughly an additional 4 million Americans.

Washington D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Miller (R-WV) introduced the Second Chance Reauthorization Act of 2024 alongside Congressman Danny K. Davis (D-IL) and Congressman Bobby Scott (VA-03). This bill reauthorizes reentry grant programs from the Second Chance Act of 2008 for an additional five years, allowing the government to continue making important investments across the U.S. to bolster reentry services and help people successfully reenter their communities after incarceration.
