WASHINGTON, DC Today, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 3590, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and H.R. 4872, the Health Care and Education Affordability Reconciliation Act of 2010.H.R. 3590 passed by a vote of 219 to 212 (Roll Call No. 165) and will be sent to President Obamas desk.

WASHINGTON, DC After reviewing the text of H.R. 4872, the Health Care and Education Affordability Reconciliation Act of 2010 and the Congressional Budget Offices analysis of the cost savings, Representative Robert C. "Bobby" Scott (D-VA-03) has decided to support this legislation. The legislation is the culmination of many months of work to make health care more affordable and accessible.

WASHINGTON, DC Congressman Robert C. "Bobby" Scott announced today that he will host a Job Fair at the Hampton Roads Convention Center on Monday, March 8, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Over sixty employers, including the Federal government, local municipal governments, and private companies, will be represented at the fair. There will also be several workshops which will give attendees tips on how to write resumes and pointers on how to polish their interviewing skills.

WASHINGTON, DC The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs announced today that the Hampton Veterans Affairs Medical Center will receive additional funds for targeted upgrades and improvements through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The additional funds will allow the hospital to replace fire alarm and nurse call systems at the medical center.
