WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Bobby Scott (VA-03) issued the following statement after voting against H.R. 7744, the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act, 2026.: “Donald Trump initiated a reckless war of choice with Iran, but that does not mean Congress must continue funding U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) without meaningful reforms, especially after ICE agents have terrorized communities, violated the Constitution, and killed American citizens.”
WASHINGTON – Congressman Bobby Scott (VA-03) issued the following statement after voting for the War Powers Resolution to terminate the United States Armed Forces involvement from hostilities in the Islamic Republic of Iran, unless authorized by Congress. “Today, I voted against President Trump’s reckless and illegal war in Iran. We have already lost American troops, and many others are injured. In their briefing to Congress this week, the Trump Administration could not articulate any credible rationale for the war nor a plan to bring it to an end.
