Scott Statement on the Passing of Congressman Donald Payne Jr.

NEWPORT NEWS  – Congressman Bobby Scott (VA-03) issued the following statement on the passing of Congressman Donald Payne, Jr. (NJ-10):

“I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of my friend and colleague, Congressman Donald Payne, Jr. He comes from a family of committed public servants, and I had the honor of serving with his father for many years on the Committee on Education and the Workforce. Donald was steadfast in his service to his constituents and the entire state of New Jersey, as well as a passionate advocate for housing and health care. I send my condolences to his wife Beatrice, their children, and his staff during this difficult time.”
