September 27, 2018
Press Release

WASHINGTON, DC. – Congressman Bobby Scott (VA-03) issued the following passage of the Conference Report to Accompany H.R. 6157 the Department of Defense and Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education Appropriations Act, 2019 and Continuing Appropriations Act, 2019:

“I have the honor of representing Hampton Roads, Virginia, home to hundreds of thousands of service members and the heart of our nation’s shipbuilding industrial base. That is why I am very pleased that we have passed a full defense appropriations bill before the start of the fiscal year for the first time in a decade. This bill gives our shipbuilders the certainty they need to continue building and repairing our Navy ships on schedule. Additionally, this bill will also provide for a well deserved pay increase for our servicemembers. I was proud to support this legislation and I look forward to the President signing it into law.”
