"Bobby" Scott (VA-03) announced that nearly three million Virginians have gained access to free preventive care, such as recommended cancer screenings and immunizations, because of the Affordable Care Act. The number includes both individuals with private insurance and seniors enrolled in Medicare."I am pleased to announce that nearly three million Virginians have already received expanded coverage for preventive services under the Affordable Care Act," said Rep. RICHMOND, VA – Congressmen Bobby Scott (VA-3) and Eric Cantor (VA-7) today joined students from St. Christopher's School to volunteer at FeedMore's Central Virginia Food Bank. The Congressmen helped prepare weekend backpacks for children who do not have reliable access to nutritional meals other than those provided at school. This is part of an ongoing #ServiceRVA effort to encourage more people to give back to the community.
