September 19, 2006
(Richmond, VA) -Congressman Robert C. "Bobby" Scott visited J.E.B. Stuart Elementary School, which has been designated as a 2006 No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon School.

The No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon Schools Program honors public and private K-12 schools that are either academically superior in their states or that demonstrate dramatic gains in student achievement. The announcement was made at a school assembly this morning by Rogers Johnson, Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for the U.S. Department of Education.

"I am delighted that J.E.B. Stuart Elementary has been afforded this honor," said Rep. Scott. "I commend Principal Jennifer K. Moore, the faculty and students for such an excellent academic achievement."

Following the assembly, Rep. Scott and Mr. Johnson visited several classrooms.
